Motiontrendz Scooter Reviews

English Beautifully ... sordid!

No real English bookshop without a large radius of 'crime fiction', often starting with the many novels of Agatha Christie.
Particularism English forces, the queens of crime fiction in the country of Her Gracious Majesty (!) Are often very old ladies in all respects whether it's Dean, PD James (90 years!) or Ruth Rendell (only 80 years ;-)). These venerable grandmothers write crime stories absolutely terrifying, mysterious and often beautifully obviously sleazy.

The Americans are not left behind (Mary Higgins Clark, for example, wrote always nightmarish stories at the age of 87 years ...).
Indeed I suggest reading the first detective novel in a series written by an American (a little younger: she's only 61 years ->) and takes place in Great Britain:

' A Great Deliverance 'by Elizabeth George (1988, 413 pages).
Minimum level required: B1 + (to determine your level of reading, see the pages of June 09 of this blog)

You are going to knowledge of the Inspector Linley (aristocrat working for Scotland Yard!) and Sergeant Havers (name: Barbara particular sign: very ill at ease), and very endearing unlikely duo struggling with a terrible crime whose unbearable to mobile no details you will not be hidden, all in the beautiful English countryside of Yorkshire. Perfectly How thrilling!
Do not be afraid of the 413 pages, everything is very readable, narrative with numerous dialogues and short chapters.
Linley and Havers are heroes of the small screen because the BBC has adapted the novels of Elizabeth George's from 2001 to 2008.
