White Tongue Red Tyip

Scary? No. .. Moving!

In late October this I'm back from a short stay in London where I saw pubs and shops adorned with the inevitable cobwebs, grinning pumpkins and other decorations horrible for the next Halloween party.

is probably why, having nothing to read at the airport, I finally decided to buy ' Twilight'! The book was half price, the risk was not very great ;-)

I must confess
, as many readers (French? Teachers?), I am wary of bestsellers - Not to mention the extracts I have seen the film adaptation seemed particularly ridiculous. For me, the only vampire story worthy of interest is that of ' Dracula' by Bram Stoker (1897) with its magnificent adaptation FFCoppola.

But two days later ... AMAZING! I am Fan!
I devoured (!) The 430 pages ...

'Twilight' by Stephenie Meyer (2006 - 434 pages)
Minimum level required: B1 + (may be suitable for young readers)
(to determine your level of reading, see the pages of June 09 of this blog)

I urge all those who liked the book in French and / or film to read this novel in its original version. It is well written, English is really accessible with little description and lots of dialogue. is a very good first book to read in English without getting discouraged.

I guess everyone knows the story. I was prepared to stories of fatal bites and dripping (usually I pass the pages in question !)...

NOT AT ALL
: it is first and foremost a beautiful love story that will not fail to awaken the working girl who sleeps in you! The tone can
may be light and fun, but we are still in the 'teenage wasteland ' are talking about in WHO Who's Next . This means we share the discomfort of a teenage girl (the narrator), his discovery of love, truth, and all the great existential anxieties that come with it. However, zero sentimentality. It's hard to believe that this is happening in the U.S. ;-).
is very strong. Very moving.
Personally I like less the story of vampires but I think the parallel world created by Stephanie Meyer is at least as complex as invented by JK Rowling Harry Potter in . So my hat To Her.

Mixed result for still reading ' Scary' Halloween!
Too bad, A ll We Need is Love.

Breaking News (Saturday, 30 October 2010) : I just watched (read 'suffer'!) Twighlight ', the film ...
HELP! Too much of everything: too many noises, too many shortcuts inept, too sentimental, even in VO, then VF, I dare not even imagine ...
That is to say nothing better than reading, no player will surpass the beauty that the reader can imagine, and no writer can not convincingly reduce 430 pages in 2 hours of film. Quite the opposite, Actually.

Do you know Eliza Doolittle?

My favorite women's magazine this week tells me that a young British singer is really worth a visit. His name: Eliza Doolittle. My heart missed a beat (*), but in good surfer, 'Immediately I Her google', and - what a surprise - the name of this little cheeky spans the first five pages Search!

What's so shocking? What's the big deal ?

Well, the REAL Eliza Doolittle, she is not AT ALL!

Eliza Doolittle is the heroine of Bernard Shaw in his play 'Pygmalion ' published in 1916 and taken into a musical under the title of 'My Fair Lady ' by AJ Lerner in 1958.
Eliza is a little flower girl in cockney accent well defined: it aspires no ' h' and said ' rain' as' Rhine '; to the output of an evening at the theater, Mr. Higgins, professor of phonetics and linguistics, the gamble to move Eliza Doolittle for a duchess after 6 months of lessons in pronunciation ...

' My Fair Lady' by AJ Lerner (1960 - 100 pages)
B. Shaw's play is a little hard to read (minimum level: B2 + ) However, the script of 'My Fair Lady' is very accessible (minimum level: B1/B1 +) and you will spend a great time.
Other
good time before or after reading: Sink into your sofa for an afternoon of autumn and enjoy the DVD of the musical: the divine Audrey Hepburn ( Who else? ) portrays a Eliza Doolittle remember, and Rex Harrison's Professor Higgins a a cynical glare. The songs are "just great ', they will not soon forget.

Are Buffalo Drives Good

One reads what when it rains?

Well, well, well ... I think we can go on a virtual trip down under , Australia. It's spring there is even already tomorrow, because we have 8 hours shift (8 hours and less in France). He is now 34 ° Darwin ... So if you feel the first cold coming, nothing like a little heat by proxy!

I had the chance to go to Australia 3 short weeks and I reported, inter alia, the following book:
' Sunburnt Country, Stories of Australian Life ' Elizabeth Joley, Sally Morgan and a dozen other authors (1996 - 200 pages)
Minimum level required: B1 +
(to determine your reading level , refer to the pages of June 09 of this blog)

This is a collection of often autobiographical stories of Australians who tell their arrival on the continent their childhood in the bush, discovering the world of work or even marriage, etc.. The authors are mostly the first half of the twentieth century, and their stories allow the reader to discover that large areas of Australia, where we learn to live with the minimum essential experience often fantasized by young people living elsewhere on the planet. Australia remains a favorite destination for young Britons and Americans for their gap year.
Also, as we say in English, I wish you 'Bon Voyage '!

logic elements

Revit encloses several logical principles (organization-specific system) which the user must understand to be comfortable with BIM. One of the first is the understanding of the database queries and is called "views".
Another rationale is that the arrangement of elements (or objects) and parameters that result.

here is the logical structure of elements in Revit:

- Object Categories
models, annotation, import

- Categories families
see list in Styles of Objects and Visibility / Graphics to view

- Families
& # 160; systems, standard components (external), In-situ &

# 160; - Types
defined User

-
& Occurrences # 160; user-defined, physical entity

This structure applies to all building elements, and also to all the entities manipulated in Revit (as seen for example).

Examples:
a compound wall : Object Model, Class Wall Family Wall base system, type BA20 +10 +2, hits are the walls of the corresponding type of project.

window : Object model, class Window, Family external "fichier.RFA name", type 130x155, hits are the windows of the corresponding type of project.

label part : Object annotation category labels play, external family "name of fichier.RFA" Name type / size, the labels are occurrences of part of the corresponding type of project.

Sintel

In the quest for free software, the field of animation (modeling and rendering) is represented by Blender. The development of Blender regularly accompanied the realization of a short film.
Sintel is the name of the last short film project directed by Durian the Blender Foundation.

Other free software have been used in particular Gimp Mypaint and I recommend to those who practice drawing using a graphics tablet.
