In the quest for free software, the field of animation (modeling and rendering) is represented by Blender. The development of Blender regularly accompanied the realization of a short film.
Sintel is the name of the last short film project directed by Durian the Blender Foundation.
Other free software have been used in particular Gimp Mypaint and I recommend to those who practice drawing using a graphics tablet.
